Alan Beaulieu, as senior analyst, economist and a principal, has been with the Institute for Trend Research (ITR) since 1990. Mr. Beaulieu has been consulting and advising companies through the U.S., Europe and Japan on how to plan for and prosper through the business cycle. Thoughts from the Institute for Trend Research and  Beaulieu have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Barron’s, USA Today, Knight Ridder News Services, Reuters, CBS Radio, The Washington Times, CNN Radio and many others. 

 
 

Dr. Michael D. Maves is executive vice president and chief executive officer of the American Medical Association, the nation’s largest physicians group. He previously led the Consumer Healthcare Products Association and the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Inc. He has served as a governor of the American College of Surgeons.

 

Maves was a member of the first AMA Resource-Based Relative Value Scale Update Committee and in that capacity testified before Congress, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Food and Drug Administration. He is a consultant to the Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health.

 

A board-certified otolaryngologist, Maves served as professor and chairman, Department of Otolaryngology, at St. Louis University College of Medicine and has served on the faculties of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and Indiana University School of Medicine. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He received an MBA from the University of Iowa. He is a former captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. 
 
 
 

David Nour is a social networking strategist and one of the foremost thought leaders on the quantifiable value of business relationships.  David is the author of Relationship Economics and The Entrepreneur’s Guide to Raising Capital, a senior management advisor, and a featured speaker for corporate, association and academic forums, where he shares his knowledge and experience as a leading change agent and catalyst for Relationship Economics® - the art and science of business relationships.

 

In recent years, David has been named to Georgia Trend’s 40 Under 40, Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Up and Coming and the coveted Turnkett Leadership Character Awards.  He has been featured in a variety of publications, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Trend, Entrepreneur and Success Magazines.

 

David earned an executive MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he’s often a guest lecturer, and a BA in management from Georgia State University. 
 
 

Dr. William A. Peck is senior professor of engineered and applied sciences, director of the Center for Health Policy at Washington University, and former dean of the university’s medical school and vice chancellor for medical affairs for 14 years. He was named the first Wolff Distinguished Professor of Medicine in 2003.

 

 Peck, a nationally recognized health-care leader, was the founding president of the National Osteoporosis Foundation, and served as chair of the Association of American Medical Colleges and as chair of that group’s Council of Deans. He has advised the Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health. Among many other honors, he holds the Washington University Clinical Teacher of the Year Award and the FDA Commissioner’s Award.

 

Peck earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He has been honored by numerous organizations, and now serves on the boards of Hologic Corporation, Allied Health Care Products, Angelica Corporation, TIAA-CREF Trust Company, and Research!America. 

 
 
 

William G. “Woody” Sutton was named assistant secretary for manufacturing and services by President George Bush in May 2007.  Sutton, a former U.S. Navy rear admiral, most recently served as president of the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (ARI) for five years.  He served as an officer of the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations and  on the boards of directors for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), North American Technician Excellence (NATE) and many others.  In the U.S. Navy, Sutton served as naval aide to President Ronald Reagan and director of programs in the Navy Office of Legislative Affairs.

 

Sutton holds a M.S. degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. degree in naval engineering from the United States Naval Academy. 
 
 
 

Jade West is senior vice president-government relations for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors. She also serves as executive director of the Wholesaler-Distributor Political Action Committee.

 

West is the senior lobbyist for NAW, advocating the interests of the wholesale distribution industry in Washington both on Capitol Hill and with executive branch departments and agencies. In addition, she is executive secretary of the 1,000-member Tax Relief Coalition; a Steering Committee member of the Alliance for Tax Fairness and Growth; director of the LIFO (Last-in, first-out inventory management) Coalition, executive secretary of the Coalition for Affordable American Energy (CAAE), and on the Management Committee of the Coalition for a Democratic Workplace (CDW), which leads the opposition to organized labor's effort to remove secret ballot elections from union certification elections and force employers into binding "interest arbitration" in negotiating contracts.   Prior to joining NAW, Ms. West worked for 20 years as a senior leadership staffer in the United States Senate. 

 
 
George Bogan 

George Bogan began his career in the metals industry in 1972 as an inside sales representative in Chicago for Viking Steel Company. He held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility including office manager, credit manager, product manager and district manager. In 1985, he became president of Morris Steel & Aluminum. In 1987, he was named vice president of marketing and material for Aluminum Mills Corporation.

In 1990, he joined Main Steel Polishing Company and has served in several positions including western regional sales manager, aluminum manager, national sales manager, and vice president of sales. Bogan was named president of Main Steel Polishing in 2001, and, in 2007, became its president and chief operating officer.

As president and CEO, he oversees the toll processor's ten locations in eight states. He has been a long time supporter of the MSCI and its predecessor organizations SSCI and NAAD. He was named to MSCI's Specialty Metals Division Council in 2006, and to the Aluminum Products Division Council in 2008. Bogan is a graduate of Kalamazoo College with a degree in psychology. 

 
 
David Hannah 

David H. Hannah has been chief executive officer of Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. since 1999 and was president of the company from 1995 to 2002. Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer from 1992 to 1995, vice president and chief financial officer from 1990 to 1992 and vice president and division manager of the Los Angeles Reliance Steel Company division from July 1, 1989 to June 30, 1990.

 

From January 1, 1987 to July 1, 1989, Hannah was vice president and CFO of the company, and from 1981 to 1987, was CFO. Hannah became a director of the company in 1992. For eight years before joining the company in 1981, Hannah, a certified public accountant, was employed by Ernst & Whinney in various professional staff positions.

 
 
Jack Hockema 

Jack A. Hockema is president and chief executive officer of Kaiser Aluminum and a member of the company's board of directors. Before assuming these positions in October 2001, he had been executive vice president of Kaiser Aluminum and president of Kaiser Fabricated Products. In this capacity, he was responsible for sales and manufacturing operations for the company's Engineered Products business unit and the Flat-Rolled Products business unit. He had also previously served as vice president and president of the company's Engineered Products business unit.

 

Prior to joining Kaiser in 1995, Hockema was the principal in a metals industry management consulting and investment advisory firm and had held senior executive positions with Bohn Extruded Products, a division of Gulf+Western, and American Brass Specialty Products. In addition, he had previously been employed by Kaiser in production/operations management positions at several company locations.

 

Hockema holds a M.S. degree in industrial management and a B.S. degree in civil engineering, both from Purdue University.  
 
 
Bill Jones 

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Bill Jones was named vice chairman of O’Neal Industries in 2008.  Previously, he was president and chief executive officer of O’Neal Steel since 2000.  After working for four years for South Central Bell in commercial management, Mr. Jones joined O’Neal Steel in 1976.  Over the next 19 years, he worked in in inside sales in Birmingham, moved to outside sales in Tupelo, Mississippi for the Jackson District, became district manager in Memphis in 1981, and was made manager of marketing and specialty products in 1987. He was promoted to vice president, Birmingham District, in 1990, became executive vice president in 1993. 

 

Mr. Jones earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, majoring in psychology.  During his career, he has been very involved in various MSCI leadership positions and currently serves as MSCI’s chairman.  He was president of SSCI’s Southern Chapter, and was an officer of the MSCI Executive Committee for several years.   Jones led   MSCI’s Membership Recruitment Task Force for a number of years.  In addition, he was named as the 2006 Metals Service Center Executive of the Year by a trade publication. 
 
 
Michael Petersen 

Michael Petersen began his career with Petersen Aluminum Corporation, a family-owned metals distributor based in suburban Chicago, in 1977.  He was named president of the company in 1987. Petersen is a past chairman of the Metals Service Center Institute and was president of the former National Association of Aluminum Distributors (NAAD) from 1997 through 1999.  During that time, he also served as a member of the steering committee of the Aluminum Association.

 

Petersen is board president of the Good News Community Kitchen, serving more than 55,000 meals annually to the impoverished in Chicago’s Rogers Park community.  Mr. Petersen graduated from Colgate University with a bachelor’s degree in history.
