Ruan: Transportation Industry Outlook
The transportation industry is vitally important to the global and American economy. According to the American Trucking Associations (ATA), overall freight tonnage will grow more than 25 percent by 2030 to 20.6 billion tons— with revenues increasing 53.8 percent to $1.6 trillion.
Trucking will remain the dominant freight mode, hauling 68.8 percent of the total freight tonnage in 2030.
