Developing Talent through Strategic Training

April 11, 2024 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT

Talent Development (TD) is about bringing out individual and organizational potential through learning and development interventions. Among the key domains of TD practice is training, arguably the most widely adopted corporate strategy for developing work-related knowledge and skills to enhance individual and organizational performance. While numerous benefits of training are grounded in research and practice, the overall return on investment in training remains much smaller compared to the enormous costs incurred. In this first of the four-part Talent Development Webinar series, Dr. Jia Wang (Professor and Researcher in Human Resource Development at Texas A&M University) will take a close look at training as a strategic intervention and explore with you some of the challenges you face in the context of talent development. By the end of this webinar, you will be introduced to a more critical way of thinking about training, some evidence-based practices, and actionable steps that will help optimize your current training system. We look forward to you joining!
