Canadian Officials Announce Several Trade Policy Decisions
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced the final determination for its antidumping (AD) duty investigation against rebar from Bulgaria, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
As a result of the investigation, the country’s government will impose duties of 4.2 percent for the UAE’s Conares Metal Supply Limited, duties of 6.2 percent for Thailand’s Tata Steel Manufacturing Public Company Limited, and duties of 15.9 percent on Bulgaria’s Promet Steel JSC. The CBSA terminated the investigation on rebar from Thailand-based Thai Steel Profile Public Company Limited, determining the goods were not dumped. The preliminary dumping margins had been at 18.1 percent for companies in Bulgaria, two percent and 6.9 percent for companies from Thailand, and 0.4 percent for companies from the UAE.
The CBSA also said the Canadian International Trade Tribunal is continuing its inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry and will issue its decision by Jan.13, 2025. Stay tuned and read more here.
