May 15, 2024, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (Central)
North American airports are powerful engines for economic opportunity in local communities, generating more than $1.4 trillion in annual economic activity and supporting nearly 11.5 million jobs.
Airports and industrial metals go hand in hand.
While passenger traffic through airport facilities continues to grow at a record pace, outdated aviation infrastructure cannot keep pace with this overwhelming demand.
Infrastructure projects at airports in the United States are funded through three key mechanisms: federal grants through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Improvement Program, the Passenger Facility Charge local user fee, and tenant rents and fees.
Airports are struggling to update the nation’s aging airport system and are at risk of falling behind.
Please join Kevin Burke, President and CEO of Airports Council International, and MSCI President and CEO Bob Weidner to discuss the current state of our North American airport system, its funding needs, and the outlook for modernizing and expanding airport infrastructure and technology in the decade ahead.
