Tell U.S. Lawmakers To Support Energy Permitting Reform

As Connecting the Dots  readers are well aware, the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) has long supported efforts to reduce regulatory barriers that delay the development of energy infrastructure. Speeding up construction on these vital projects will reduce costs for industrial metals companies and boost demand for steel and aluminum.

Now you can make your voice heard on this matter. The Energy Equipment and Infrastructure Alliance (EEIA), which the MSCI is a member of, is asking interested individuals to use EEIA’s platform to write to members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives urging them to prioritize permitting reform legislation early in this Congress.

As EEIA points out, legislation is urgently needed to reform today’s system of endless environmental reviews and court challenges that impede or even stop energy infrastructure projects from moving forward. The EEIA also notes the current state of permitting uncertainty raises energy costs, threatens reliable electricity, kills countless jobs and business opportunities, and threatens U.S. energy and technology dominance.
