Edge conditioning

Coils of slit strip and plate are fed into a machine with tools that remove sharp edges and edge imperfections that result from slitting

Specific edge profile required for use can be created

Edge condition designations

• #1: Round edge
• #2: Mill Edge: Hot rolled or cold rolled edge
• #3: Slit edge, slitting burr intact
• #4: Round-Cornered Edge: Rounded edge
• #5: Edge is near square (deburred)
• #6: Square Edge: Square with radial corners

Most common is #3, slit edge
