Hot rolled, cold worked, and annealed

Sheet, strip, and plate are available in one of these conditions

  • Hot-rolled
  • Cold-rolled
  • Annealed

Hot rolling and cold rolling are mill processes used to reduce a slab to desired sheet or plate thickness and to obtain desired mechanical properties

Annealing is a heat treatment used to reduce the strength and hardness of hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel to its lowest level.

For stainless steel, primarily austenitic alloys are available in the cold-rolled condition.
