U.S. ITC Votes Against CVD Orders On Steel Nails From Four Countries

The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that U.S. industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of imports of steel nails from India, Oman, and Turkey. The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) previously had determined these products are subsidized by their respective countries.

The ITC also found imports of these products from Sri Lanka that the DOC also had determined are subsidized are negligible.

As such, it voted to terminate the countervailing duty investigation concerning Sri Lanka. As a result of the ITC’s determinations, no countervailing duty orders will be imposed on imports for India, Oman, and Turkey and a countervailing duty investigation regarding imports from Sri Lanka will be terminated.

A report regarding these determinations will be made available by October 14, 2022 and will be available here.
